The birth of a collection starts with an idea. Or rather, in the case of Mimco, with an abundance of ideas. We discuss, debate, design, and then distill. From concept to creation, we invest over 9 months in bringing our accessories to life. Each range takes time, love, attention, and above all, lots of care.
Although Mimco uses many modern design techniques, we’re proud of the fact that the creative process usually starts with something that fashion designers have been using for centuries: the sketch. From bags to jewellery, every piece begins as a hand-drawn image, crafted by our Melbourne-based design team.
Each sketch is then brought to life by our partners and suppliers—many of whom we’ve been working with for more than 15 years. Their skills allow us to push the boundaries; they help us make our most intricate and unexpected pieces a reality, while maintaining an exceptional standard of quality.
